Substitute Teachers

Applying to Substitute Teach in Cheatham County Schools, you will need to provide us with a copy of your High School diploma or G.E.D.

We will need to copy your social security card or birth certificate AND your driver’s license.

A copy of your application will be sent out to the school(s) you designate on your application.
The principal of each school is responsible for reviewing sub applications and calling their own subs. We do not have a central office staff member in charge of substitutes. The principal of each school has complete discretion as to which applicants they call to substitute at their particular school.

Substitute pay is $50.00 per day. We pay substitutes on the 5th day of each month. Checks are mailed out on the 5th unless you call a couple of days before the 5th to request us to hold your check for pick up.

The cut off date for calculating sub payroll is arbitrary. Our payroll clerk notifies the schools each month of the cut off date for that particular month.
Please keep a record of your days worked on your own calendar for comparison to your pay stub. The pay stub will indicate the dates included in that paycheck.
